Mahmoud Marai is an Egyptian desert explorer and founder of the travel agency Nomadi-KA. He has a PhD in Educational Leadership and was a high school physics and chemistry teacher for 15 years.
Marai is considered one of the last great Egyptian desert explorers. He leads expeditions into remote regions of the Sahara desert, following ancient trails and routes. He has discovered over 70 previously unknown prehistoric rock art sites in Egypt, Libya, and Chad. His notable discoveries include finding the furthest hieroglyphic inscriptions from the Nile near the Chadian border.
Marai follows the trails of ancient Egyptian explorers like Harkhuf, who led expeditions to the mysterious land of Yam. He has covered large swaths of the Sahara, including the Darfur to Cairo caravan route, the Ennedi and Erdi regions of Chad, and the Fezzan region of Libya. With over 200,000 km driven, he is considered the most experienced desert driver to remote areas.
After COVID, Marai began following the spiritual paths of ancient mystics in Egypt and Greece. His travel company Nomadi-KA aims to nurture the soul through transformative travel experiences. His trips go to exotic, remote locales where travelers dive into local cultures. The tours are tailored, exclusive experiences focused on adventure, discovery, and enlightenment.

I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now.
